How can humans fly

Greetings Everyone

I was recently driving along in my minivan and a pigeon soared by my windshield and I was amazed at its gracefulness and  I said to myself I wish I can soar and glide like that oh I wish I had wings !!!!!

The truth is we all have the power to fly with grace. Our wings may not be full of feathers or sticking out of our sides, no our wings are even better than that, our wings can be made to fly to almost any height we desire and can be made to withstand the most brutal of winds (and yes can withstand the hot burning sun).
  • When we find a meaning and purpose to our lives we actually feel like we are flying
  • When we do what we love we have the feeling of flying
  • When we spend time with the people we love we have the feeling of flying
  • When we get clarity and cut thru ambiguity we have the feeling of flying

The only danger to human wings is they shouldn't be clipped.

The following are there examples of exposures that cause the clippings of the human wing.

1.       Not having Clear desire = Intelligence without ambition is a like a bird without wings said Salvador Dali, I think I'll put this at the top of the list but I'll clarify it a bit. Ambition is like the fluttering of the wings to raise itself up in flight but ambitious behavior is gained by having clear desire to achieve something, when desire for something is clear ambition arises.

2.       Not Believing in yourself = belief in yourself is another one of vitamins for the human wings and not believing in yourself will ultimately destroy your wings even if you have desire and ambition.

3.       Not Appreciating the small things = the road to success in your endeavors is a long and hard one, appreciating what you have will moisturize your wings to keep them in great shape.

Now I know that each of these points have to be explained in more detail and instructions is needed how to conquer them and acquire them but my goal for now is to clarify, that your first objective is to see if you possess or lack the above because these are from the core principles needed in life, and that where your primary focus should be in the beginning to strengthen YOUR CLARITY ABOUT YOUR DESIRES, YOUR BELIEF IN YOURSELF, YOUR THANKFULNESS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY and I'm sure that after that you will feel like you can fly to any height you desire.

All the best for now

is sleep important

Greetings everyone,

I apologize for the delay in posting my blog since I usually post on Sunday but due to some computer problems I had to postpone it but we're back so let’s begin.

Besides wondering about the power of sleeping as it’s one of the wonders of the creation, how a person can recharge themselves when and wherever they may find themselves no wires needed, and now that I'm writing about it I realized that sleep is more attainable than water and that is astonishing to me.

Thinking about the most basic necessities that a human being needs to survive I would say that from the top three would be water food and sleep. The only thing that puzzles me is why is sleep so within our reach just by relaxing and closing our eyes while food and water that seem more important are not as easy to acquire?

This  reflection leads me to appreciate all the more and value the importance of sleep and how much of  our success can be attributed to the proper sleep habits all that contribute to clarity of mind and a proper tuned body ready for challenges and the will to succeed.

I decided to elaborate on this subject, not that its concepts are entirely new and not that my research was extensive but some of the points were quite a surprise to me and I'm sure you will find it informative.

Remember this very important life rule, talking and writing, reading about any given subject is important, you never know it might be the right time or the writer that will inspire to you to make the change.

I'll start with this article in the success magazine Develop a Leader's Mind Five Essentials from Brain Expert Daniel Amen, M.D.
1. Sleep
Sleep deprivation has been associated with events such as the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the British Petroleum oil spill, the Union Carbide gas leak and even the Challenger space shuttle crash. More than 100,000 U.S. traffic accidents a year are attributed to sleep deprivation.

As a leader, it’s vital to get enough sleep to function at your highest level. It is especially important for the prefrontal cortex, located in the front third of your brain, which is involved in CEO function: forethought, judgment, impulse control, organization, planning and learning from the mistakes you make. When there are problems with the prefrontal cortex, people have short attention spans. They get distracted; they’re impulsive, disorganized and don’t learn from their errors. It can cause some real trouble in their lives. These people tend to be brutally honest, which is usually not helpful and tends to drive away employees. (You should inhibit the first thought that comes into your head and think, Is this going to be helpful or hurtful in this situation?)

You can strengthen this part of your brain by getting good sleep. When you don’t get at least seven hours of sleep at night, you have low blood flow to the prefrontal cortex. This leads to bad decision-making capability.

Next I bumped in to this write up from helpguide.org that I’m sure that you will find interesting about the stages of sleep. I included the link to the full write up at the end.

There are two main types of sleep:
  • Non-REM (NREM) sleep consists of four stages of sleep, each deeper than the last.
  • REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep is when you do most active dreaming. Your eyes actually move back and forth during this stage, which is why it is called Rapid Eye Movement sleep.
The Stages of Sleep
Non-REM sleep
Stage N1 (Transition to sleep) – This stage lasts about five minutes. Eyes move slowly under the eyelids, muscle activity slows down, and you are easily awakened.
Stage N2 (Light sleep) – This is the first stage of true sleep, lasting from 10 to 25 minutes. Eye movement stops, heart rate slows, and body temperature decreases.
Stage N3 (Deep sleep) – You’re difficult to awaken, and if you are awakened, you do not adjust immediately and often feel groggy and disoriented for several minutes. In this deepest stage of sleep, brain waves are extremely slow. Blood flow is directed away from the brain and towards the muscles, restoring physical energy.
REM sleep
REM sleep (Dream sleep) – About 70 to 90 minutes after falling asleep, you enter REM sleep, where dreaming occurs. Eyes move rapidly. Breathing is shallow. Heart rate and blood pressure increase. Arm and leg muscles are paralyzed.

Yawn !!!!!!! ok I'm starting to  feel tired I think I'll take a little nap and dream more about this phenomena called sleep.

All the best for now and if you enjoyed this post please share it with your friends.

Running the Marathon

Ah!  I'm Running the Marathon these are one of those words that are associated with the swelling of the chest in pride, knowing that you're going to try to finish the designated 26.2 miles.  Competing, accepting upon yourself a challenge and working hard beforehand to get yourself in shape are all part of the excitement.

But then I see a different kind of running marathon and very interesting sight it is. In this marathon a big percentage of the runners are actually running in the opposite direction from the finish line.

Why is it when it comes to our choices in life, it seems to me that a lot of us veer off our chosen path of life and instead start running a marathon, but not one of challenge and pride but running from one self, doubting oneself, down talking oneself, and after a while we find ourselves running the complete opposite direction than the finish line?

And what amazed me about this marathon of life the running from oneself is, that it’s defying to basic human nature. What I mean is that even though it is part of basic human nature to love oneself more than anything but as time goes on I find that our actions show, that not only are we trying to run away from ourselves but we actually act and do things that show that we actually hate ourselves and what we stand for.

I know it sounds contradictory, it sounds crazy, but look around and you will be amazed the closest human being to each of us is our own self, but when you analyze how we talk to ourselves and the thoughts what we think about ourselves you’d say that we are actually engaged in a war of hate and destruction to ourselves.

Don’t you think it’s time to change the direction of our running and instead of running from ourselves, lets run towards ourselves, accepting and loving the person we are, instead of down talking and thinking negativity with a passion let’s start running with the same passion towards believing in ourselves .
Think about yourself like in a third person and talk and think about yourself as you would be talking to a friend. As you would be telling your friend how much you believe in them and love them. Don't you deserve the same kind of love?

Talking about marathons I found some similarities between Running marathons and Life marathons that I would like to share with you

I hope you take my words to heart as this can be the start of some great changes in your life.

All the best
